Located in the centre of the campus, the Resource Centre provides a hub for all students. Constructed in 1984, the building is largely in its’ original condition and was in need of a full refurbishment. Upgrades to all services, new glazing to all facades and removal of the entirety of internal fitout, form this large scope of works.
From the diminishing requirement of paper books, the Resource Centre seeks to provide more than a source for text books. To provide a space for students to learn in formal and informal arrangements, utilising latest technologies, carrying the school through to new directions in Teaching and Learning
A predominantly open plan arrangement is designed to provide a flexible environment. A variety of seating types can be moved around and tessellated together, students can sit alone, in small clusters or in a more formal classroom setting. As you progress through the plan, the quieter it becomes.
The multi-functional, light and open spaces of the Resource centre, align with the direction of Teaching and Learning at Penrhos College.
